Chennai Express - 2 : Shameless for food

This is a prequel to Vakiba's article. Bear any creativity on my
end as I don't remember all the details. Vakiba, Vamshi, Papi
or Prakash may like to add to this.

This was a 20 day workshop in Chennai. The schedule was to
have talks and lectures for the first few days and then for the rest
of the duration, do some project.

The 3 hour lectures used to start at 8:30 everyday and the breakfast used
to be served from 7:30 onwards. And breakfast used to be yummy.
They used to serve the best food ever and that was unlimited too.
This was one thing which we all could never afford to miss. So,
even though we slept extremely late at night (between 2-4), we had
to be at the conference venue before the breakfast got over.

So, beating all odds, we used to get up in the morning and then rush
to the venue. The best we could do was reach the venue at 9:00/9:30.
Now, the most obvious thing to do was to bunk the talk and get to
the kitchen. But to reach the kitchen we had to pass through the
open door of the lecture hall. If all of us would attempt to pass at the
same time, then we would get noticed and it would have been
extremely embarassing as the speaker and the majority of the
junta knew us. So, we all decided to go one by one. It was like
running for cover without getting noticed. Finally, we used to make
it to the kitchen. In the kitchen, even the people who used to serve
used to leave by then. And what used to remain were the
unguarded vessels full of most delicious items. Now, we used to
take our time and devour it. Sometime, the caterer who used to
be present used to make more chappaties/dosas/etc if the items
were finished.

When we finished our daily routine, rarely would we go back into
the lecture hall. So, we used to spend time at the computer center
till noon and then join the junta at Lunch !!
